Spot Metering Practice

Last weekend on Saturday I went for a photo session practice, this time the aim was to practice using spot metering, and to get a clear white background as a result. I was lucky because I had one creative director and one technical director with me that morning.

The creative director was Yusoef, he was brilliant, without him I'm sure the outcome will be really dull, he make the model felt very easy and comfortable, and he knows how to ask the model to pose...and I want to learn how to get the shoot, like the photo below, so he be my model and I took the shot....I have to lie down to be able to get this result...

While I was doing this shot, Ciklan shot a photo of me, lying down to be able to get this shot, but I will not show it here!

Overall, only 10% out of more than 500 shot that I'm okay with, kind of below average actually. Well, I post the photo in facebook and there were so many people comment on this and that, basically I just want to fully utilize all the equipment that I have, all dslr body and lens have it own flaws here and there, so another objective is just to make full use of the lens and body. Sometimes we always think with a better body and lens we will produce a great picture,I really want to get rid of that perception!

Photography is a hobby for me, and not a business, when I'm struggling with my life in the cruel environment, I need some space to practice something that I like and will make me happy, but I don't like doing post processing at all, as for me natural is the beauty, only if I have time to do it, then I will do, that will make me a better photographer, I will shot carefully, I will be alert to isolate the object, I will think fast for a better composition. That is my main objective.

Over exposed...I think...and she had to do it so many time until everyone get this shot...pity her!

We started shooting quite late, at about 11am, janji jumpa pukul 9.30 kan...tapi biasa la, Malaysian...so the weather already warm and more people around the park, so very limited time (don't want to look so poyo actually).

Even I took the shot of lotus at orchid park hundred time, I still love to have more...and I dont know why, not producing any better photo of the lotus what so ever but just love the flower, typical women!
